The Buttons on the remote do not push in and there are no lights on the remote. The top part that looks like a light is the sensor and needs to be pointed at the fan. The remote only functions when music is in progress through the bath fan. The battery should be installed in the remote so that the smooth side (will have a + sign) faces the back of the remote. Battery is CR 2032.

No. Timers and/or humidity sensors cannot be installed with the fans.

General Fan Questions

First be sure to check the Products section of this web site for downloadable installation instructions. These provide in depth information about how to install your ventilating bath fan.

There are a few variables that can affect noise level. The length of your duct run, the amount of bends in your duct run and the size of your restroom. A shorter dust run is better for performance and noise level. You want avoid having a bend or elbow right at the connection to the outlet or fan housing. If you used a reducer fitting between your bath fan outlet and your house ventilation duct, then the noise generated by your bath fan can be louder than normal. This can be adjusted by changing the diameter of your house ventilation duct to match the size of the fan outlet. Lastly as stated on the box, you want to match your square footage as close to CFM rating as possible. So, if you have an 80 sq. ft. bathroom you would want to have an 80 CFM fan, again this helps with performance and noise.

A shorter duct run is better for performance and noise level. You want avoid having a bend or elbow right at the connection to the outlet or fan housing. The less bends and turns your duct run has in general the better the fan will perform and sound. Lastly as stated on the box you want to match your square footage as close to CFM rating as possible. Keep in mind that ventilating bath fans require an air source to draw air up and out of your bathroom. If your bathroom door and / or window is closed, then there may not be enough air circulating in the room to help your fan clear the air. If you crack your door or window open a little, you will gain better performance from your fan.

Anti-Siphon Sillcock

Please give customer service a call with your model number and we are happy to offer replacement parts.

We can help you determine the model number. Before calling us, please have the answers to the following questions:
Is it a Quarter turn or multi turn? Does the vacuum breaker have a brass or plastic cap? How many points are on the handle?  Is the pipe size 1/2inch or 3/4inch?  Lastly, measure the internal stem from tip to tip, just like the picture below.

Faucets and Shower Heads

We suggest soaking your showerhead in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water over night. The vinegar will break down any mineral deposits or sediment from hard water and should improve the flow through your shower head.

Water pressure can decrease over time due to mineral build-up in your faucet or showerhead. Try soaking your showerhead or cleaning your faucet aerator in a solution of water and vinegar.

Shut off the cold-water supply. If the leak stops, then the problem is on the cold-water side. If the leak continues, then the problem is on the hot water side. Many faucets have a cartridge that is located under the hot and cold handles. Remove the handle on the problem side to remove the cartridge. Try replacing the cartridge to repair the drip. Cartridges for Homewerks faucets are available for warranty replacement by calling (877) 319-3757 or email info@homewerksww.com.

Showerheads are required by the Federal EPA to have a water flow restriction device for water saving initiatives. This is often the cause of reduced water pressure after installation of a new showerhead. Some consumers choose to remove this device but doing so may void the showerhead warranty.
